“Olonkho Dictation” republic campaign will take place in the region for the first time in honor of Olonkho Day, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with the reference to the National Library of the region.
The dictation will be held in two stages – November 24 at 10.00 for adults and November 27 at 14.00 for students of 8-11th grades.
The initiators are the National Library, the Olonkho Institute of NEFU and the Olonkho Association of Yakutia.
“Everyone is invited to participate in the action. All participants will be awarded certificates. Participants with the best results will be awarded with diplomas,” the library reported.
Olonkho is the oldest epic art of the Yakuts. It occupies a central place in the Yakut folklore. Olonkho means both the whole epic and its individual parts – songs with a length of 10 to 40 thousand lines.
Earlier, Yakutia 24 TV channel reported that the Olonkho decade would take place in the republic from November 25 to December 10, which includes presentations, exhibitions and discussions in the region.
