The Lena River ice began to move near the village of Vitim, Lensky District – six days ahead of the forecasts. On the Middle Lena, water levels continues to rise with varying intensities from 5 to 20 centimeters per day, water on ice and rims is observed.
According to the hydrologists, ice movement started on April 26 on the Tyan River in the Olekminsky District (the right tributary of the Tokko River). “In the next two days, an ice drift is expected here, which is seven to eight days earlier than normal,” the report says.
In addition, throughout the Aldan, Vilyui rivers and their tributaries, the daily increase in water level is 5-15 centimeters, ice freezing and water on ice are noted. As for the small rivers of the Vilyui river basin, spring flow began there, which is 15-20 days earlier than the average long-term periods. North and north-east Yakutia rivers still have the winter regime remaining.
