Yakutia resident was fined for more than 170 thousand rubles for deforestation in especially large amount
Yakutia 24 TV channel with the reference to the Regional Prosecutor’s Office Press Service: A resident of the republic was found guilty of illegal cutting of larch on a particularly large scale in the Gorny region area, which resulted in damage in amount for more than 173 thousand rubles.
The convict with no permits illegally cut trees of larch species of 54,41 cubic meters total volume in the area of the Magaras region forestry.
“His criminal actions resulted in damage of 173 thousand rubles to the Russian Federation,” the report says.
The convict did not voluntarily indemnify for the damage caused, so the district prosecutor’s office appealed to the court with a claim for damages. The court examined and upheld the prosecutor’s application.
The court decision has not entered into legal force and may be appealed by the parties.
