Yakutia 24 TV channel: JSC Yakutia Precious Metals Committee produced diamonds worth $3,17 million in 2019.
“This year result is 21% less than in 2018. The decline was due to a decrease in demand for diamonds both domestically and abroad. In addition, last year the enterprise sold jewelry products through its own jewelry network worth 197,2 million rubles, which exceeded the planned figures by 116%, taking into account wholesale sales,” says Alexander Kychkin, general director of the enterprise.
He added that in June 2020 the Committee was transformed into a joint-stock company. After that, the enterprise began to develop a Strategy for the development of society for the period 2020-2025 and a Concept for the development of precious metals mining for 2020-2028.
“According to preliminary data, the company completed 2019 with total assets of 9,4 billion rubles, which is 18% more than at the beginning of the year,” Kychkin explained.
According to him, the Committee is a shareholder in 23 jewelry, lapidary, mining and other companies. The main income of the enterprise is formed from the sale of diamonds and jewelry products of its own production.
“In 2020, we plan to produce $ 3,2 million worth of diamonds with a 1% increase by 2019, due to the current situation on the international diamond market. The company also plans to sell jewelry products for 220 million rubles, which is 12% more than in 2019,” says Kychkin.
