The network would reduce the costs of products and opearting costs
The republic plans to get a budget loan in the amount of 750 million rubles for the development of a trade and logistics centers network in 2020, in order to reduce the price of products and provide the Arctic regions with vegetables all year round. This was announced by Deputy Minister for the Development of the Arctic and the Issues of Northern Nationalities Mikhail Pogodaev, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with the reference to TASS.
“Our project is the creation of the network of trade and logistics centers to provide the Arctic regions with socially significant food products and vegetables. The TLC network will work in two directions: the delivery of these goods to the regions and the organization of centralized procurement and export of local products to Yakutsk or to other sales points,” he said.
It is noted that at present, the issue of a loan in the amount of 750 million rubles with the Development Fund of the Far East and the Arctic is being worked out for the implementation of this project. Subject to timely financing, the agency plans to begin the project implementation in the Arctic regions from 2020.
“The construction of such TLCs should reduce the price of products, ensure year-round availability of vegetables in the Arctic and reduce operating costs. The centers will be equipped with modern techniques, designed for the purchase and processing of local products – vegetable stores and freezers,” Pogodaev noted.
According to him, it is planned to use their own river vessels with low draft, which will provide a longer navigation period and cheaper transport component of the northern delivery.
