Republic experience in culture and architecture is exposed at New York museum
Yakutia 24 TV channel: The republic exposition is presented at the Solomon Guggenheim Museum of Modern Art in New York as part of the exhibition “The Countryside: The Future”.
The exhibition presents three sections about Yakutia. The first is devoted to research and problems of permafrost conservation. The second is about changes in the landscape. The sections show a scientific film, graphs, diagrams of changes shared by the Permafrost Institute and the Laboratory of the Mammoth Museum. The third section presents a series of “Tiksi” photographs by Evgenia Arbugaeva and excerpts from Yakut films.
The exhibition will last for six months. “The phenomenon of the Yakut cinema aroused great interest among the guests and they are very impressed that Yakutia is home to so many creative people. Then Rem Koolhaas decided that we’ll expose not only thematic materials, but also frames from Yakut films,” says Irina Alekseeva, head of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning.
The exhibition was prepared by owner of Pritzker Prize and Golden Lion of the Venice Biennale Rem Koolhaas and Harvard Higher School of Design. The exhibition presents the world experience in the development of territories in the areas of artificial intelligence and automation, mass migration, territorial administration, human and animal ecosystems, subsidies and tax benefits and other events that change rural landscapes.
