Seven representatives of the Yakut wrestling school have been defeated in “Alans” international tournament in Vladikavkaz, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with the reference to the “Sports of Yakutia.”
It is noted that five athletes participated in the national team of Yakutia, two wrestlers – Andrei Bekrenev and Egor Dmitriev – represented the national team of Belarus and the Philippines.
So, Yuri Sivtsev (57 kg) lost ahead of schedule to Kezhik Mongush from Tyva. Mikhail Ivanov lost to the champion of Russia from Dagestan, Ramis Gamzatov with a score of 0:11. Egor Dmitriev (61 kg) lost to Kezhik Chymba (1:12). Captain Viktor Rassadin (65 kg) was defeated by Alexei Borovitsky from Buryatia (2:2). Andrey Bekrenev lost in the last second of the meeting to Muhammad Beshtoyev (2:3). Timur Nikolaev (70 kg) in an equal fight lost to the winner of the Russian championship Arbak Sat from Krasnoyarsk (2:3). Nyurgun Sergin also lost to the titled Anzor Urishev with a score of 0:3.
“On the occasion of the disastrous performance of the Yakut wrestlers, and indeed on the disappointing results of the last competitions on the international carpet, today, December 9, we’ll have a round table on the development and problems of free-style wrestling in Yakutia,” the message said.
300 athletes from 25 countries took part in the contest, including representatives from Russia, the USA, Iran, Mongolia, Turkey, Greece, Slovakia, Georgia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan.
