Yakut blacksmiths will present historical copies of national knives at Moscow exhibition
Yakutia 24 TV channel with the reference to the Republic Ministry of Entrepreneurship, Trade and Tourism Press Service: Three Yakut smiths will present copies of ancient national knives at the “Blade – Traditions and Modernity” 40th international exhibition in Moscow.
The event will take place in Moscow from October 31 to November 3. Eight masters of the republic from Khangalas, Taatta, Amma and other regions of the region will be there.
Blacksmiths from Khangalas will show knives, made in the pre-revolutionary Yakut technology. Masters had been studying historical books and archival data for about two years.
“The idea to make a copy of the ancient Yakut knife came to us a long time ago, but we started its implementation a couple of years ago. While creating the replica, we used only old technologies and raw, produced in Yakutia. We dig ore ourselves. All processes are manual. In addition to piece exhibition products, we carry knives for sale,” said blacksmith Alexander Danilov.
Such work is to be exhibited at the contest for the first time.
