Winter account of hunting resources continues in Yakutia
Yakutia 24 TV channel: From January 15 to March 15, 2020, the winter count of hunting and fishing species of animals takes place in the republic.
“We count livestock in specially protected natural territories and in the generally accessible hunting grounds of Yakutia. To monitor the number of hunting resources, we make aerial visual registration of wild ungulates and questionnaire survey of a wolf, brown bear, waterfowl and pine forest,” says the Ministry of Ecology.
The department explained that it helps to determine the number of moose, wild forest deer, red deer, roe deer, sable, squirrel, ermine, wolf, wolverine, lynx, red fox, hare and other hunting animals. Along the way, they count pine forest on the routes.
“Based on the results, obtained after processing the accounting materials, quotas and a limit for hunting of wildlife objects in the hunting season 2020-2021 will be determined,” the department notes.
