Yakutia 24 TV channel: Rescue Service extracted the bodies of two people, who died when KAMAZ fell under ice in Zhigansky district.
“A board with five rescuers of Yakutia Rescue Service flew to the Zhigansky district. They arrived at the site and started diving. The bodies of two dead were extracted. They’ll be delivered to Yakutsk,” says the Ministry of Emergencies.
According to the Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Region, two KAMAZs fell through the ice on their way to the nearest village on December 25.
“Six cars were going from Yakutsk to Kyusyur village, Bulunsky region, and transported food products. When passing through a channel, the first and third cars from a column failed under the ice. The first car, where were a husband and wife of 1966 and 1964 years of birth, went completely under the ice,” they say.
It is noted that the third car failed partially, a man and woman who were in it managed to get out and were hospitalized to the central district hospital with general hypothermia and frostbite.
