Based on the results of 2019, Kangalas PDT resident “Sayuri” plans to grow 391 tons of vegetables in the year-round greenhouse complex, which is 10 times more than in 2018. The investor submitted his project at the Star of the Far East contest, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with the reference to the Regional Head’s Government.
The company tells that 298,2 tons of cucumber, 63,3 tomatoes, 29,5 green will be collected in greenhouses over the year. In 2018, they planted only cucumbers, the crop was 28,5 tons, and 22,2 tons in 2017 (six tons of cucumbers and 16,2 tons of tomatoes).
Sayuri company has been implementing the project since 2016. This is the only vegetable production in permafrost in the world.
The first greenhouse complex in Yakutia is being implemented in three stages. Greenhouses with an area of 0,1 and 1,2 hectares have already been introduced. The final third phase of the project will be implemented in 2020-2021. The third phase means construction and commissioning of 10 greenhouse blocks with a total area of two hectares. After completing all three stages, the enterprise will annually produce 1119 tons of cucumbers, 780,6 tons of tomatoes, 17 tons of greens.
The organizing committee of the Far East Star Prize noted, that the project appears in two nominations – Territory Development and Foreign Investor, since the Japanese company Hokkaido Corporation is the technological partner of the project.
