Putin: Income from resource production must be distributed fairly
Yakutia 24 TV channel with the reference to RIA Novosti: Head of State Vladimir Putin said that the problem of mining income distribution between the state and investors can be solved, using a fair approach and goodwill.
“The problem of equitable distribution of income from resources is the one faced by all who work in this area. Strange as it may seem, Russia itself in the late 90s and early 2000s faced these issues and problems, especially in the framework of the so-called concession agreements. But we have solved these problems with our partners,” said the Russian President at the Russia-Africa Summit plenary meeting.
Earlier, his colleague, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Felix Antoine Chisequedi Chilombo, said that from 2010 to 2014, the oil and mining companies of the DRC earned about $ 42 billion, and only $ 6 billion went to the country’s budget. Chilombo said that his country faced the problem of sharing mining income between the republic and investors.
The first Russia-Africa economic forum is being held in Sochi on October 23-24.
