Work on the translate of Olonkho into digital media has begun in the republic, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with the reference to the Il Tymen.
Yesterday, December 16, saw a meeting of the Republic National Organizing Committee on the preparation and conduct of the second Olonkho Decade.
“Targeted work has begun to create a republic phono and video library, to strengthen work to perpetuate various Olonkho, recorded before,” the report says.
As first vice speaker of the parliament Alexander Zhirkov noted, preliminary work was done in a manuscript fund, stored in the archives of the SB RAS Institute for Humanitarian Studies and the Issues of the North Indigenous Minorities.
“A list of epic works has been compiled, by which documents will be transferred for digitization in the next order. An appropriate agreement will also be concluded,” he said.
It is noted that the vice speaker proposed the creation of an expert group to monitor and carry out digitization.
