Nuremberg trial participant’s uniform to be transferred to museum
Yakutia 24 TV channel: The copy of uniform of the Great Patriotic War veteran Vasily Ivanov, the only participant in the Nuremberg trial from the republiv, will be transferred to the Yaroslavl Museum of Local History.
The children and grandchildren of the veteran decided to make such a gift in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory.
Military clothing was specially made for the guard of honor of the Nuremberg trials in 1946. It is planned to restore all the medals in addition to creating a copy of the uniform.
Vasily Ivanov is the only participant in the Potsdam Conference and the Nuremberg Trials from Yakutia. He went to the front as a volunteer in the ranks of the workers ‘and peasants’ army. He fought in Stalingrad. After being wounded on the southwestern front, he served as the squad leader of the 127th border troops. Has nine combat awards.
