Mirny district of Yakutia subsidized 9 bear hunting licenses
The administration of Mirny district of the republic funded nine grants for obtaining a license for bear hunting, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with the reference to the district administration.
“In early December, a special commission examined the applications for grants in the form of subsidies for the reimbursement of costs for acquiring the relevant licenses. The administration takes 70% of the cost of the license. This time, we got nine applications from our hunters who wished to receive a grant. All of them were satisfied,” the official statement said.
It is noted that such measures stimulate regulation of the number of bears in the Mirny district. Cases of the appearance of solitary animals and bear families near settlements have become more frequent in recent years.
