International Arctic School opens in Yakutia in September 2020
Children at school will study in three languages: Yakut, Russian and English
Yakutia 24 TV channel: Head of the republic Aisen Nikolaev visited the construction of the International Arctic School.
To date, construction work has come to an end. The new three-story building observes commissioning and cleaning work. The educational institution is designed for 220 children.
The new building contains spacious classes equipped with interactive whiteboards, a swimming pool and a planetarium, an assembly hall, as well as a museum of Arctic civilization.
The facility is being built under a public-private partnership agreement. The school must obtain a license for educational activities until June 2020.
Education at the International Arctic School will be in three languages: Russian, Yakut and English. By the end of primary school, students should be proficient enough in English to study basic subjects on it. For these purposes, it is planned to attract native English speakers.
“Admission to school will be absolutely transparent, the best of the best will be able to study here. Our main goal is to get graduates of the international level,” says Aisen Nikolaev.
