Yakutia 24 TV channel: A reason of warm winter in Russia is the global warming, says acting director of Russia Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand.
“In general, a winter temperature rose by 2 – 2,5 degrees in late 30 years. Global warming has its spatial and temporal features, and it is most noticeable in the temperate and high latitudes, just where we live, and in winter months. That’s why the temperature rises so sharply. This, of course, is incredibly much,” he says.
According to Villefand, climatologists are already discussing the tendency of “Russian winter” turning into “European” one. However, only many years of research can affirm that.
