The head of the republic, Aisen Nikolaev, examined the preliminary results of the financial and economic activities of oil and gas company Surgutneftegas for 2019, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with the reference to the Regional Head’s Government.
“Surgutneftegas is one of the most responsible subsoil users who work in Yakutia territory in compliance with environmental standards, environmental protection, and nature conservation. The company makes a great contribution to the consolidated budget, contributes to the socio-economic development of the republic,” said Aisen Nikolaev.
Surgutneftegas is actively developing the East Siberian oil and gas province, which includes Yakutia, the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Irkutsk Region. The company’s total corporate reserves in Russia are 768 million tons of oil, of which 248 million tons are in the republic.
In September 2019, the sixth field in Yakutia, the Lenskoye oil and gas condensate field, has been commissioned. In 2019, oil production is expected to reach 9,300 thousand tons, which is more than last year.
The head of Yakutia recommended that the company, along with other subsoil users, take part in the implementation of the priority project “Local Personnel into Industry”, which includes measures for employment, internships for young specialists, and their professional training.
Aisen Nikolaev added that today the company has already employed about 1,5 thousand Yakutians.
