The Art and Epics Center will include the theater, museums, art spaces
Head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolaev met with Russian Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky in Moscow yesterday, December 10. The parties discussed the issue of federal budget co-financing the construction of the Arctic Center of Art and Epics in the republic capital, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with the reference to the Regional Head’s Government.
According to Nikolaev, Yakutsk rightfully claims to be a sociocultural center in the Arctic. “Our republic potential is important for the cultural domination of Russia in the global Arctic, and the world-class cultural complex will meet new urges,” he said.
The head of the region explained that the large-scale facility to be a multifunctional public socio-cultural complex, that will host several cultural organizations, including the State Philharmonic, Olonkho Theater, Sakha Theater, exhibition halls of museums, public spaces, halls for holding summits and congresses.
The project includes three large transforming scenes. Two of them will unite in the hall for 1,5 thousand seats.
“The project for the center construction is at the completion stage and will undergo state examination soon. We want to introduce the first stage at the end of 2022, the second – at the end of 2023. The cost of the facility is about 9,5 billion rubles,” Aisen Nikolaev’s words are quoted.
