Head of Yakutia congratulates the elder of Evenki village
Yakutia 24 TV channel: Head of the republic Aisen Nikolaev congratulated Olga Semenova, a resident of Iengra Evenki village on the 80th birthday.
The event took place at the ethnic center of Iengra. Aisen Nikolaev thanked the veteran for many years of diligent work, her contribution to the preservation of the traditions of the indigenous peoples of the North, and presented mementos.
“A lot is being done in the village of Iengra to preserve the traditions of the indigenous peoples of the North. But any help from the state in this matter will be useless if there are no people who carry these traditions and pass them on to future generations. Olga Gavrilovna is one of them. She devoted her whole life to work in traditional sectors of agriculture. She is the pride of our republic,” says the head of the republic.
Olga Semenova was born in 1940 in the village of Chulman. At nine years old, she remained an orphan and began to work as a nanny in a kindergarten, on the construction of the first houses in Zolotinka village. In 1955 she married, then gave birth to eight children. Six of them followed in the footsteps of their parents and became reindeer herders and chum workers, two daughters chose the profession of teacher.
The woman was awarded the Order of Maternal Glory of the second and third degrees.
