The Emergency Response Department of Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk, established in Neryungri in September 2019, will begin to work on January 1, 2020, the Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with the reference to Interfax.
“A new branch of Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk, called UAVR-2 is being created to ensure reliable and trouble-free operation of the Power of Siberia gas transmission system, to carry out scheduled repair and, if necessary, emergency restoration work on the main gas pipeline,” the company told the news agency.
It is stated that the branch will provide 115 people with work. The main employees will be the installers of external pipelines, electric gas welders, insulators, as well as engineering and technical workers. The company has already begun recruiting staff, mainly from residents of Yakutia.
“If it is necessary to carry out repair and emergency recovery operations by the UAVR-2 forces on the Power of Siberia, we may use the equipment of the branches, created for the gas pipeline operation: heavy construction equipment (pipe layers, bulldozers, excavators), dump trucks, semi-trailers and other auxiliary equipment,” the statement says.
Earlier, Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk registered a department for the prevention and elimination of accidents in Neryungri town on September 23.
Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk LLC operates more than nine thousand kilometers of gas pipelines in Siberia and the Far East, and is a customer of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline construction.
