Fraudsters under the pretext of gas service employees offer paid ‘services’ to Yakutsk residents
Over the last 24 hours, Sakhatransneftegas JSC recorded several appeals from republic capital residents, who reported on persons who had appeared to be gas service employees and offered to install equipment for a fee, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with reference to the company’s press service.
According to the applicants, unknown persons are knocking on the door, appear to be “Gorgaz workers”, present some certificates and inform about the need to install new gas valves. The cost of the “service” is 32 thousand rubles, and pensioners are offered a discount that makes the cost of installation 14 thousand rubles. At the same time, these persons are dressed in casual clothes without any identification marks.
“There is a clear fraudulent activity, because the company does not offer the installation of valves to its subscribers,” the company said.
Sakhatransneftegas urges citizens to be more attentive: the company’s employees are dressed in overalls and do not offer the installation of additional valves, since this service does not bring any benefit to subscribers.
“If the knockers introduce themselves as employees of the gas service, you need to ask for a certificate, and then call 460085 and check with the service dispatcher. If the answer is no, you must close the door and contact the police,” the company added.
