Yakutia 24 TV channel: State inspectors examined the territory of the water intake station under construction near the Power of Siberia gas pipeline on the banks of the Lena River in the Olekminsky District.
The basis for the audit was the appeal of head of Solyansky village Natalya Yakushkova to Olekminsky Committee for State Environmental Supervision. She reported on possible river pollution during the construction of a water intake station near the Power of Siberia gas pipeline, namely the discharge of water with a strong pungent odor from a dug pit.
“At the time of the site survey, on April 13, there was no economic or other activity to build the water intake station, no groundwater was discharged, the foundation pit was completely filled up, and a tubular structure was installed in the middle,” the Ecology Ministry says. Specialists took water samples and sent them to an environmental impact assessment.
