‘Cold Conquerors’ built icehouse and familiarized with the life of reindeer herders
The groups are measuring record low temperature
Yakutia 24 TV channel: Oimyakon group of “Cold Conquerors” project built an icehouse in their camp, and the Verkhoyansk group of extreme lovers got acquainted with the life of local reindeer herders.
“They built the icehouse in four days. We have two nights left to spend the night in a tent,” tells expedition participant Ilya Voskresensky. He and Pavel Matveev placed the flag of the Russian Geographical Society and the project flag on the house.
The Verkhoyansk group familiarized with the behavior of deer, the daily life of reindeer herders and basics of survival in the tundra.
“The true conquerors of the cold are those who live here. They do not just survive, but graze deer, lead a full life. Seeing them, you understand the value of what you have,” says Natalia Belyakova, a project participant.
According to her, the Verkhoyansk expedition group recorded an air temperature of about -50 degrees.
