‘Chypchaal’ national cinema prize awarding took place in Yakutsk for the first time
Yakutia 24 TV channel: The first national cinema prize “Chypchaal” has been awarded to Yakut cinematographers for achievements in 2019 in the republic capital.
“In recent years, the Yakut cinema has achieved great success, even international ones, so we thought we should establish our own national cinema award. Nominations will change annually. If earlier the films were evaluated by the audience, now the filmmakers themselves will evaluate them,” said Alexey Romanov, chairman of Yakutia Filmmakers Union.
Figurines were awarded in eight categories. So, the award for contribution to Yakut cinema development went to producer Sardaana Savvina.
The work of director Konstantin Timofeev “Beiberiken” was recognized as the best children’s film, the best commercial film was “Agent Mambo”.
“Best Music for Cinema” nomination was won by composer Moisey Kobyakov. Director Dmitry Davydov received the award for his work on film “No God But Me” and Peter Hickey, director of “Kuluk Khomus” film received the prize for his debut.
Victory in nomination “Film of the Year” went to Lyubov Borisova’s picture “The Sun Above Me Never Sets”.
