Buryatia representative became the best bone cutter in Russia
Yakutia 24 TV channel: The seventh festival of bone carving art of the peoples of Russia ended in Yakutsk, where the representative of the Republic of Buryatia Bato-Munko Chimitov became the best master.
The bone cutter presented six of his best works of mammoth bone. Chimitov received the main prize – a certificate for 100 thousand rubles. More than 100 artists from 13 regions competed at the festival. They showed figures from deer, elk, mammoth tusk and other rare materials: from miniature figures to large story compositions.
The jury of the festival marked the best bone carvers in six categories: the plot composition, the best technique, innovation, debut. Participants also competed in manufacture of authors handiwork. Masters carved figures from a mammoth tusk in front of the festival visitors.
