People won’t have to use ferries anymore while crossing the Markha River
The ceremonial opening of the bridge across the Markha River took place today, November 25, in Nyurba district of Yakutia, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports.
The event was attended by head of the region Aisen Nikolaev. The grand opening was accompanied by fireworks.
The Markha bridge became the biggest one in the region – its length is 560 meters. The project costed 4,7 billion rubles.
“This bridge is another successful project of the Sibmost company. Construction work was carried out in difficult climatic conditions, however, they were completed in full compliance with the schedule. I am sure that the erected bridge will become the hallmark of Yakutia. It will contribute a lot to the development of transport accessibility and improve the quality of life of the region’s residents,” said Oleg Mamaev, Director General of Sibmost Group.
The constructed bridge is the first one across the Markha River, people used to cross it by a ferry. In addition to the main bridge, two bridges of 55 and 33 meters across the Mar River have been built, as well as approaches to them with a total length of six kilometers.
