Yakutia 24 TV channel with the reference to the Ministry of Eastern Development Press Service: Implementation of the project on the socio-economic development of the Arctic, prepared together with the regions, will require 230 billion rubles, which was stated by the RF Deputy Minister for the Far East and Arctic Development Alexander Krutikov during a meeting of the State Duma committee on budget, taxes and fees.
“We have begun work on the new state program “Socio-Economic Development of the Arctic Zone”, that should become the key mechanism for implementation of the Strategy and the new federal law,” he said. He noted that the draft state program in the first version will be prepared and submitted for discussion by December 1, 2019.
According to him, all activities, not related to the socio-economic development of the Arctic regions, were transferred to the sectoral state programs during the preparation of the document. The projects such as construction of an ice-resistant platform of Roshydromet, the arrangement of the Russian Guard, and the disposal of ships with nuclear fuel. Each of the events is now included into its sectoral state program with full preservation of funding.
“Within the framework of the federal and national projects in the field of education, healthcare, culture, sports, housing, roads, the Arctic will receive only 155 billion rubles, which is not enough for a qualitative change in situation in the region,” Krutikov summed up.
