ALROSA sold a six-carat pink diamond to USA collector
6,21 carat pink fancy color Yakut diamond went to American Larry West’s collection
Yakutia 24 TV channel: ALROSA diamond company has sold a pink diamond weighing 6,21 carats to American collector Larry West.
Cushion cut stone is of Fancy Intense Pink Purple shade. This is the first diamond of Russian origin that the collector bought directly from ALROSA.
The diamond was mined in Yakutia. ALROSA accompanied it with a complete information about its origin, including a digital passport with a detailed history of extraction and cutting, as well as information about the experience of the master who cut it.
“As world diamond production decreases, pink diamonds will become more rare and therefore more valuable. This is the first diamond from Russia that I bought directly from ALROSA. It has excellent characteristics and will certainly take its rightful place in my collection,” says the collector Larry West, who owns New York-based L.J. West Diamonds. He has been collecting the most unusual natural colored diamonds for over 40 years. His collection is on display at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles, and is also auctioned worldwide.
Earlier, we reported that ALROSA held an annual True Colors auction in Hong Kong for the sale of colored diamonds and sold more than 200 stones. All of them were accompanied by a digital passport with detailed information about their origin.
