ALROSA Supervisory Board approved the development strategy for the cutting complex for 2020-2022 and the plan for integrating “Krystal” Cutting Complex into the group of companies, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with the reference to ALROSA.
ALROSA Group includes lapidary enterprises: “ALROSA Diamonds” branch in Moscow, “ALROSA Diamonds” LLC in Barnaul and “Krystal” CC in Smolensk. The company bought the plant from the state in October 2019. It is noted that these lapidary enterprises account for more than 60% of all Russian cutting.
“The plan includes a set of measures to increase the efficiency of assortment management, optimize the production cycle and create a consolidated diamond marketing system,” the official statement says.
According to the company, the processing of fancy color diamonds and large colorless diamonds is planned to be concentrated in Moscow. Processing of colorless diamonds from 1 to 10 carats will be moved to Smolensk at the initial stages of the integration project. Small-sized diamond processing is planned to be distributed between production sites in Barnaul and Smolensk. The total processing volume will be more than 200 thousand carats of diamonds.
“The unification of cutting sites, in our opinion, will make it possible to reduce production costs and occupy a stable market share for the production of diamonds of Russian origin, characterized by high quality cuts,” said ALROSA CEO Sergey Ivanov.
