Yakutia 24 TV channel: About 1,5 thousand volunteers are currently providing assistance to elderly people and people with limited mobility.
According to Stepan Sargydaev, Minister of Youth Affairs and Social Communications, volunteers help purchase food, medicine, garbage, and walk pets. The corps includes doctors, Victory volunteers and other organizations.
“In times when the disease poses the greatest danger to the older generation, they must be self-insulated and stay home, and the fact is there are many lonely people among them. Such organizations existence shows that such phrases like humanism, kindness, solidarity and responsibility are not empty phrases for the society of Yakutia and Russia,” says head of the republic Aisen Nikolaev, who visited the corps on March 27.
According to the acting Director of the Center for Work with Volunteers Alena Kychkina, to date, more than 530 applications have been received from citizens, 526 of them have been processed. Applications come from all over Yakutia, so volunteer teams have been created in order to process them. In addition, three cars are attached to the hull, and there are also four personal volunteer cars.
