Young chess player from Yakutia won Moscow Open-2020 international tournament
Yakutia 24 TV channel: 13-year-old Yakut chess player Arseniy Chumaevsky won Moscow international tournament Open-2020 among young men.
2020 chess festival brought together more than two thousand athletes from 37 countries and 76 regions of Russia. About 30 athletes from Yakutia took part in the chess festival in various disciplines.
“Arseny Chumaevsky is a student of a chess gymnasium. 13-year-old chess player from Yakutsk excelled in a school tournament among older youths under 15,” says head of the gymnasium and senior coach of the republic’s national team Roman Ganzhurov.
He tells that Arseniy scored eight points out of nine possible. This is his second victory at the Moscow Open tournaments. He is also a multiple winner and medalist of the republic and Far Eastern championships. He was a participant of the Russian championships Major Leagues and the final part of the Russian students’ summer Olympics.
