Young athletes will have to give up tea due to new anti-doping rules for 2020
Educational discussions on anti-doping rules for 2020 started in the region’s sports facilities, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with the reference to the Republic’s Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation.
The coach of the Yakut rhythmic gymnastics team Oksana Kazantseva told the two teams and the parents of young athletes about the new rules.
“This year a number of changes have been introduced into the anti-doping rules. RUSADA also introduced a special service for checking medications for the presence of WADA prohibited substances – list.rusada.ru. Now all children and parents own the service. We also gave recommendations on nutrition. For example, in accordance with the new requirements, athletes must refuse tea because of the high caffeine content in this drink,” told Oksana Kazantseva.
In addition, athletes should use drugs that are manufactured and marketed in Russia. Medicines purchased in other countries may have a composition with prohibited substances.
