Yakutia authorities discuss cooperation with scientists and state corporations within the REC
Interregional Research Education Center to open in Yakutia
Yakutia 24 TV channel: The republic authorities will hold a meeting with the scientists and representatives of companies, operating in the region, including state corporations, in order to cooperate with them within the REC.
Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin asked the government to concentrate on developing higher education in the regions. “… We will continue applying for our REC creation, that will be interregional. A number of Far Eastern regions have expressed their desire to be there,” says head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolaev.
It is assumed that the center will be joint for four regions of the Far East – Yakutia, Kamchatka Krai, Magadan Oblast and the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. If the application of Yakutia for the creation of a world-class REC is not approved, the project will be implemented at the regional level. In Russia, it is planned to create at least 15 world-class RECs under federal “Science” project.
The national project “Science” was developed in accordance with the May decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to the objectives of the national project, by 2024, Russia should enter the top five leading countries of the world that carry out research and development in scientific and technological development.
