Yakutia Amginsky district school included into the UNESCO Associated schools network
Bolugur Secondary School with in-depth study of some subjects in the Amga district of the republic received the status of the UNESCO associate school, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with the reference to the district administration.
“This is a new page for Bolugur school. The new status will contribute to international development, the creation of a new environment for the entire educational system of the region and republic,” the report said.
It is noted that for today, 24 educational institutions in Yakutia have the status of associated schools.
The UNESCO Associated Schools project was launched in 1953, then it comprised only 33 schools from 15 countries. Today it unites more than 11 thousand educational institutions.
The priority areas, included in the main process of the project, are the study and preservation of cultural heritage, protection of environment and ecological well-being, protection of human rights, participation in strengthening peace, and development of intercultural communication.
