World War II veteran been refused of social assistance in Yakutia village
Yakutia 24 TV channel: The Social Insurance Fund rejected the request of the only veteran of the Second World War in the Neryungri district Valery Spiridonov on providing a hearing aid.
A 93-year-old veteran lives alone in the village of Chulman. On July 2019, he applied to the district social insurance fund, but the hearing aid was not listed into his rehabilitation program. According to the federal law, a hearing aid is issued only to people with disabilities according to their statements, which Valery Spiridonov is not. The village administration decided to help the veteran get a hearing aid for a fee.
