“Way Home” campaign for people in difficult situations is on in Yakutsk
Yakutia 24 TV channel: The traditional social and charity “Way Home” campaign is taking place in the capital of the republic today, on October 18. Its purpose is to help citizens in a difficult life situation, who do not have a permanent place of residence and work or lead an asocial lifestyle.
The first such campaign took place in 2018, and since then it has been held for the seventh time. With the onset of cold weather, such events become vital for people, forced to eat and live on the street.
At the pace of the campaign, people in difficult situations can find the tents with hot food and drinks served, a medical center and general practitioners like the phthisiatrists and narcologists. They can also take tests and undergo fluorography there.
“The purpose of the social charity event is to provide targeted assistance to citizens in difficult life situations, as well as those leading an asocial lifestyle, but wishing to return to normal life. During the event, people receive medical and social assistance,” said Sardaana Gureva, Commissioner for Human Rights in Yakutia.
She noted that within the framework of the action, people can restore documents, family ties, find a job, get referrals to rehabilitation centers.
