The number of most serious crimes decreased by almost 30% in Yakutia
The number of extremely grievous crimes in the republic decreased by 27,5% in 10 months of 2019, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with the reference to the Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the supervisory authority, more than 10,5 thousand crimes have been registered on the republic territory for the specified period.
The largest number of crimes is the ones against property. The number of crimes related to illegal cutting of forest stands, their destruction and damage, as well as illegal hunting has increased.
According to the prosecutor’s office in Yakutia, an analysis of the socio-criminological characteristics of crime showed that 3 518 crimes were committed while intoxicated.
It is also reported that 3 259 crimes were committed in public places, which is 1,3% less than in the same period last year. The number of crimes, committed in the streets, decreased by 1,8% – 2206.
The number of crimes, committed by women, increased by 15,5%, from 939 to 1085.
Taking into account the statistics, the prosecutor’s office of the republic took measures to coordinate the activities of law enforcement agencies in order to increase the effectiveness of the fight against crime and its negative consequences.
