The number of African students in Yakutia University will increase
Yakutia 24 TV channel with the reference to the University’s Press Service: 17 applicants from the African countries are preparing to enter the North-Eastern Federal University.
More than 30 African students from Burundi, Egypt, Cameroon, Somalia, Zimbabwe, Côte d’Ivoire, Namibia and other countries are currently studying at the university.
“39 people study at NEFU at the main vocational educational programs. In 2019, 30 people entered vocational education, and 17 entered the faculty of pre-university education. Medicine is a particularly popular direction. 34 African students study at the NEFU Medical Institute. The university created all conditions for comprehensive development of foreign students,” said the Department of International Relations of NEFU.
At the Russia-Africa summit held in Sochi on October 23-24, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the country was ready to accept students from Africa for training. He emphasized that the states need to develop contacts in all areas and strengthen multifaceted partnerships.
According to the Ministry of Education and Science, almost two thousand African students from 49 countries entered Russian universities in 2019.
