The NEFU International Festival brought together students from 35 countries
The participants of the NEFU International festival got acquainted with the national culture and traditions of 35 countries of the world, that presented by foreign students, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with the reference to the university press service.
President of the International Student Club Shahrukh Rusaliev says that the event not only acquaints students with the other countries’ culture and expand their horizons, but also gets them adapted to the university.
“I think that the student’s adaptation is an important part of learning. Many of the guys came from distant lands, and they may get confused in the new environment. We want to make them understand they are not alone,” said Shahrukh.
Vice-rector for international cooperation Vladlen Kugunurov said that 420 foreign students are studying at the head university in basic programs, about 100 people are in the preparatory one, and there is also a student exchange program between the countries.
“We are proud that the number of foreign professors is increasing annually: more than 100 specialists work in the NEFU under basic and temporary agreements,” he said.
