Verkhoyansky region resident Ignaty Sleptsov began to breed bees. The novice beekeeper collected 30 kilograms of honey in the summer, Yakutia 24 TV channel reported with the reference to the Regional Administration.
Ignaty Sleptsov brought hives with families from Yakutsk to Barylas village. The man has been studying the beekeeping basics with the Yakut beekeeper Evgeny Polichko for almost four months.
Barylas village turned out to be a suitable place for beekeeping. Black and red currants, blueberries, lingonberries, dogrose, cloudberries – northern strawberries, cranberries, blueberries, honeysuckle, white clover and other berries grow in Verkhoyansky region. Ivan tea is the main base for honey bees.
According to Ignaty, beekeeping is not just an amateur hobby, but something important that must be passed down from generation to generation.
A man held a seminar in his homeland about the benefits of northern beekeeping. He spoke in detail about the features of Arctic beekeeping and practical things of this business in the Far North.
