Lena Bridge construction in Yakutia will take about 4 years
The construction of the bridge across the Lena River will take about four years, said the republic head Aisen Nikolaev in a live broadcast on Yakutia, Go! program on Yakutia 24 TV channel.
“2020 is the design and the federal state examination of the project, and 2021 is the actual beginning of the bridge construction. According to the experts, given the extreme temperatures, difficult hydrological situation on the Lena River, logistics problems for the delivery of bridge steel structures, the construction will take about four years. And we hope it will be completed in 2025, ”said the head of the region.
He said that Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the head of government Dmitry Medvedev to identify the sources of the project financing.
“We believe that the design of the bridge and its access roads will start in 2020. This is a huge work and it is worth billions of rubles. Unfortunately, the previously submitted projects, including a combined road-rail bridge, did not provide access roads,” said Aisen Nikolaev.
He added that the changes to the project included not only access roads, but also the construction of the facility in such a way as to bypass Old Tabaga region, without affecting residential buildings.
