Discussing of the new directive on Russian anthem obligatory singing at schools
Schoolchildren of the republic may sing or just listen to the Russian anthem before the start of classes, said the republic head Aisen Nikolaev on Yakutia 24 TV channel.
We remind, earlier, Yakutia government issued a decree, on which all school students of the republic were obliged to sing the Russian anthem every day before the classes.
“This decree provoked the public reaction, that is ambiguous only in the city of Yakutsk. I received hundreds of comments from the districts and I can say that the villagers are all “For”. There were questions from Aldan, Udachny, Mirny cities asking why the kids should sing. But the issue is not about singing. Children may sing, or may just listen,” explained the regional head.
He noted that the decree refers to the anthem performance. “This does not mean that we ourselves must sing. Almost all schools have a speakerphone system, through which they can broadcast the country’s anthem to all classrooms. It is not necessary to gather all children in one place, standing at attention, as some people write, they may listen to the anthem in the classrooms before the classes. The shortened version of the anthem is 1,5 minutes,” said Aisen Nikolaev.
He shared that the students had written to him on social networks and had said it was good and interesting. “They ask how long does it take and none of them asked if it was necessary,” the head of Yakutia emphasized.
Aisen Nikolaev said that the recommendation for the anthem performance is the part of large decree “We are the future of Russia.” The document defines the basic principles of a system for the formation of civic and cultural identity of children and youth in Yakutia. This is the continuity of historical traditions, spiritual and moral values of the Russian peoples, the strengthening of the role of family, society and the state in the education of a citizen; the combination of traditional and digital environment in a person’s development.
