‘Forest fire extinguishing system should be revised’, Russian Prime Minister
Yakutia 24 TV channel: “In order to effectively extinguish forest fires, it is necessary to create a new system of interaction of services”, says Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Trutnev.
“If there is a fire in the forest, it is a responsibility of Rosleskhoz. But we have settlements in the forests, and the forest fires get there, but the Ministry of Emergencies is not entitled to extinguish them – they do not work in the forests, this is not their authority. It seems to me that this whole chain of responsibility needs to be thought out, it cannot go on this way,” says Trutnev. According to the plenipotentiary, first thing is to put out the fires, and then figure out “who is to blame, on whose lands it is.”
