The mine machine of St. Petersburg developers will be tested in Yakut cold
The mine machine, manufactured by the Picar plant in St. Petersburg, will be tested in the harsh climatic conditions of the republic, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with the reference to Nevskie Novosti.
The factory commission has accepted the underground mine machine. On Sunday, December 8, special equipment will be sent to Yakutia.
The vehicle was assembled on the basis of a buggy as part of the Import Substitution project. Together with the development, the assembly took six months.
“The advantage of the new underground mine machine is primarily its lightness. It will be sent to Yakutia for experiments in harsh conditions. This is the first domestic car of this type,” said Anton Agoshkov, production manager at the Picar plant.
He noted that equipment with a carrying capacity of one ton can carry a crew of six people and about 300 kg of cargo. The assembly used domestic materials, Italian engine, American gearbox (CVT). The car can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h, has four-wheel drive and independent suspension.
According to Agoshkov, if such machines are in demand, the plant will be able to produce 400 units. The current need is 250 cars.
It is noted that earlier they used western analogues for work in mines, that are several times more expensive.
