Famous Yakutians will record audio books for the blind people’s library
Famous residents of the republic will record audio books for the blind people’s library under the “Victory Voices” campaign, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with the reference to the Republic Ministry of Culture.
The campaign was launched by the department head and the idea’s author Yuri Kupriyanov, who recorded an audio book by Timofey Smetanin “Sallaat Surege” (Soldier’s Heart).
It is noted that the campaign participants will be Yakutia ministries and departments, as well as organizations of the cultural sphere.
The library has prepared a list of books, the participants are to record prose and poems of both Yakut and Russian authors.
“With the help of our library’s employees, they created an audio book for blind readers. The year of the Great Victory of our people is already beginning, our common task is to preserve this immortal feat through generations. I am sure that everyone will contribute,” the words of Kupriyanov are quoted.
He invited Minister of Ecology, Nature Management and Forestry of Yakutia Sakhamin Afanasev and Minister of Youth and Social Communications Stepan Sargydaev to participate in the campaign.
The campaign is reported to last until late April 2020. In May, the first part of the recorded audiobooks will be presented. Then the campaign will continue.
