Bridges across the Vilyui River in Yakutia to be designed in 2020
Design and survey work on four bridge crossings over the Vilyui river will start in the republic in 2020, Yakutia 24 TV channel reports with the reference to Regional Head’s Administration.
“Recently, I have had the opportunity to personally discuss the development of transport infrastructure in our republic with Vladimir Putin. You all know that the president approved the project of the bridge across the Lena, herewith, he also carefully examined Vilyui highway,” said head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolaev.
According to the deputy head of the Federal Highway Agency (Rosavtodor) Evgeny Turiev, design and survey work on four bridge crossings over the Vilyui river, the largest of which to be erected in the Verkhnevilyuysky district, will start in 2020.
The approximate length of the bridge will be 1,7 kilometers, and the length of the approaches is 20 kilometers.
“The construction of these facilities will begin in the coming years after the projects’ approval. This will ensure year-round automobile communication from Yakutsk to Mirny,” Turiev said.
Aisen Nikolaev noted that the scope of work on the Vilyui federal highway is an integral part of the Northern Latitudinal Belt of Russia project. We are talking about the transport route that will lay north of the Trans-Siberian and Baikal-Amur highways and will reduce the growing load on them.
